About
Shepherds of Cats is a collective of musicians Aleksander Olszewski, Adam Webster, Dariusz Blaszczak, Jan Fanfare and video artist Maciek Piatek also known as VJ Pietrushka who together create unique audiovisual projects. The results of their collaboration take the form of improvised audiovisual stories, inextricably entangled and unfolding in real time.
Their music is often described as eclectic, with styles intermingling, clashing or complementing one another. The video component grows out of a determined and authentic pursuit of visual experimentations. Together, the musicians and visual artist build a distinct relationship with the audience, who become immersed in an atmospheric mass of sound and moving images, from hypnotic and rhythmical audiovideo meditations to frenetic dialogue of instruments, noisy chaos or pleasantly melodic passages and visual experiences.
On the one hand, there is deliberate skirmishing, chance and a lack of script and on the other a distinct form emerges over the course of the performance, surprising with its coherence. This peculiar paradox is perfectly encapsulated in the band’s name: Shepherds of Cats.

Shepherds of Cats are:

Dariusz Blaszczak: modular synthesizer, electronics
Jan Fanfare: guitar, prepared ukulele, daxophone, looper, voice
